Dana Point Harbor

For some, a beach is just a beach. A place where saltwater gets in your eyes, sand get in your bathing suits, and ,for some, burning in the sun no matter how much sunscreen you put on. With all that salt, sand, and sun people often forget that each beach has a certain charm and characteristic to it.

Each have a certain trait that defines them. Huntington Beach has a surfer vibe and teeming with different activities. Laguna Beach has a relaxed atmosphere with some very fashionable neighbors. One of my favorite beaches is Dana Point.

Dana Point, CA is often called the “Whale Capitol of the West” because of the numerous species of whales who use Dana Point as a landmark when migrating. It has also been known for the plentiful fishing opportunities for centuries! The Ocean Institute is a resident of Dana Point and provides fantastic educational activities for everyone! Visit HERE for all the information you want/need!

My boyfriend and I were here on a day date. We meant to go see the waterfall that’s hidden somewhere (ALL ABOUT IT ON THIS BLOG), but it really only flows when it’s raining. Otherwise, it basically doesn’t exist. Still, we made the most of it and explored!

The water was calm, blue, and beautiful.

There’s also a small viewing area on the side of the Ocean Institute.
You can walk down some stairs and down to an area of the beach.

I would love to see pictures of your favorite places! Tag me on Instagram @theeliehuynh and use the #elieadventures!

Thank you! Try going this upcoming weekend, 17-19th of February, because it’s going to be raining the entire time! It’ll be the perfect time to go see the waterfall. Just remember to bring an umbrella and rainboots! xo, Elie.
