This museum is absolutely gorgeous; from the entrance to the exhibits themselves. Museums are phenomenal in their own right in general, but Processed with VSCOcam with a9 presetthe Getty Villa is a totally different situation. It is an immersive experience. The whole villa itself is a replica of a Roman country house. The villa has a main courtyard that showcases a long and shallow fountain framed by perfectly manicured hedges.  When you look towards the edges of the courtyard you can see variety of shrubs and herbs planted. They are inspired by the same one planted by the Romans for food and ceremonies. Honestly, if you’re a blogger, model, photographer, OR JUST A PERSON WHO LIKES TAKING OR BEING BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS IN GENERAL… take the opportunity to do a mini- photoshoot here because it’s… I don’t even have WORDS because it’s so magnificent. I seriously regret not doing some cute poses and stocking up on Instagram-worthy posts!

Processed with VSCOcam with a8 presetWhen you make your way to the sides, past the herbs and shrubs, and walk into the walkway; look up because the ceilings of the villa are decorated with detailed murals and with gold colored flowers! It will take your breath away. Brass lamps are hung which, for me, adds a nice touch to help this amazing replica feel more like a like the real deal. The floors are so clean that you can see yourself in them!

I’m honestly itching to go back to get a better look at the exhibits since the last time I was there I was way too excited to walk through it all and see everything. Hopefully, my next trip is soon. It’s too gorgeous of a place to only see once. There’s even an outdoor theater that was added during the 1996 remodeling! New goal: see a production in that theater!

I would love to see pictures of your favorite places! Tag me on Instagram @theeliehuynh and use the #elieadventures!
